I had a post Covid-19 review meeting today at work. The meeting was going on so well until someone openly called me A BULLY. Surprisingly, everyone on the table jokingly agreed that I had bullied them at one point or the other or they know someone that innocent Abby bullied.
How can a whole daughter of Zion like me be a bully? Nah. There is a mix up somewhere.
I didn’t believe the accusation until they dug up occasions to back up the claims and I felt so speechless.
I don’t like that bully word and I am determined to change the narrative. I will just let this rest because that’s not why I am here.
I just finished seeing a 2017 movie…Everything Everything. While I think Amanda Stenberg and Nick Robinson did a lot with a little, and in all honesty they explained SCID in an authentic way, but still it was not an enjoyable film. It was slow, overly ridiculous, and not really all that interesting.
I am not a keen fan of romance movies because many of those films struggle to know the balance between cheesy outrageous exaggerations and believable reality. It really doesn’t matter how you make yourself stand out in terms of creativity, because if your audience can’t believe in the movie itself, then it fails as a whole.
Everything, Everything is the type of movie that bugs me from start to finish, due to the fact that everything about it seems polished and dumbed down for a specific audience.
To be fair, Yes, there are some very creative aspects, which I will not want to get into, but the movie itself suffers from being too unbelievable.
I loved the house. I liked the decor. I fell in love with the glass wall thing but I also felt they didn’t do an overall development of the lead characters enough for me to fall in love with them.
The twist was unexpected…I loved it.
Madeleine’s attempt to elope with Olly is the dumbest decision I think the script writer made. The adults who have kept her within a confined space for such a long time aren’t that stupid.
In conclusion, I don’t like the movie. I watched it because a friend on Facebook hyped the movie but I will remind myself not to trust her movie reviews or recommendation again.
I am not a hopeless romantic person so I am obviously not their target audience. I paused the movie to take a shot of this beauty that stared at me through the window. It reminded me of a poem I studied in literature while I was in secondary school.
“Busy old fool, unruly sun Why dost thou thus,
Through windows, and through curtains, call on us?
Must to thy motions lovers’ seasons run?
Saucy pedantic wretch, go chide
Late school-boys and sour prentices,
Go tell court-huntsmen that the king will ride,
Call country ants to harvest offices ;
Love, all alike, no season knows nor clime,
Nor hours, days, months, which are the rags of time”
“I can’t remember the title but the poem was my favourite. If you can, please let me know.
